I’m Brendan Pang. You might know me and you might not, but Chinese-Mauritian food is what I want to be known for!
I’ve dabbled in contemporary, café-style food and fine dining, but what I love to cook most has no frills or thrills – just simple good food.
I first learned to make wontons at nine years of age, and since then, my food journey has been a non-stop crescendo.
I’m lucky to have so many inspirational cooks in my family who blossomed in the food industry after leaving their established professions. After leaving my job as a social worker in Broome, I’m no exception either it seems!
The recipes passed on in my family that I grew up eating – I take pride in now cooking for my own family, ready to pass on to the next generation.
Whether through my airstream kitchen Bumplings, my cookbook, through MasterChef Australia or other – I love to share my food and share my love of it for everyone to enjoy too.
